About Knight Farm

Knight Farm was established in 2018 with a simple but meaningful vision: to create a place rooted in stewardship, family, and connection to the land.

Nestled among the rolling hills and forests of Midlothian, Virginia, our 300-acre property reflects the quiet beauty of the Virginia countryside. At the heart of the farm sits our home, perched on a hill overlooking a large, spring-fed lake alive with bluegill and bass. A smaller pond and wooded acreage frame open pasture, creating a landscape that feels both expansive and deeply personal.

From the beginning, our goal was not simply to own land, but to care for it well. Over time, the farm has grown into a vibrant and working property. A growing herd of Highland cattle grazes the pastures. Miniature donkeys roam nearby. Chickens provide fresh eggs, bees pollinate the fields and produce honey, and a large garden yields vegetables through the changing seasons. Each element plays a role in the rhythm of farm life — a reminder that good stewardship requires attention, patience, and respect for natural systems.

The lake and pond are more than scenic features. They are gathering places — for fishing, reflection, and quiet evenings by the water. Stocked with bluegill and bass, they reflect the balance we strive to maintain between use and preservation. The wooded areas provide habitat for wildlife and a sense of privacy that makes the farm feel like a retreat from the pace of modern life.

Kari and I are grateful to call this place home. While our four children now live elsewhere — two married and building families of their own — Knight Farm remains a place where we come together. Our oldest has blessed us with a granddaughter, and we look forward to the day she can explore these hills, fish in the lake, and learn firsthand the value of caring for something that will outlast us.

What began as open pasture has become a gathering place for family and friends. It is a space for celebration, reflection, and shared work. More than anything, Knight Farm represents a commitment — to preserve the land, to honor the responsibility of stewardship, and to cultivate a legacy that future generations can build upon.

We are still learning. Still improving. Still growing.
And we are grateful for the opportunity to do so here.
